What Supertech Performance makes
Supertech Performance says its valves and valvetrain parts are made for nearly every form of motorsport, including drag, rally and road racing. Its range covers forged one-piece valves, valve springs, retainers, shims and valve spring kits, plus forged pistons in 4032 alloy, H-beam connecting rods, laser-cut multi-layer steel head gaskets and block guards. It will also make custom valves to order.
Supertech lists several valve materials: stainless steel with a Black Nitride treatment, which it says reduces friction and wear; sodium-filled valves; titanium valves; and Inconel superalloy valves, which it says are used on the exhaust side only.
Supertech Performance and a turbocharged build
Supertech's own valve guide names Inconel for forced induction engines and high exhaust gas temperatures, and suggests Inconel exhaust valves with a matched spring and retainer set for forced-induction and track engines. The right valves for a particular engine depend on the whole build, including the turbo, the fuel and the calibration.
For the turbo itself, GP Turbos builds hybrid turbos and carries out turbo rebuilds.
