What Jetex makes
Jetex started out making mild steel exhausts; stainless steel systems followed, and later catalytic converters and air filters. Today it sells complete performance exhaust systems, parts for building custom exhausts, universal catalytic converters, direct-fit sports catalysts, stainless V-band clamp sets, replacement sports air filters and induction kits.
Jetex explains that its silencers have no baffles: noise is absorbed around a perforated centre tube, which the company says keeps back pressure down. Bends are mandrel-bent where possible, tailpipes are polished stainless steel (grade T304), and each system comes with a fitting kit.
Jetex and a turbocharged build
On a turbocharged engine the downpipe is the first section of exhaust after the turbine housing. Jetex lists turbo downpipes for cars including the Ford Focus RS Mk2, the Audi S3 8P, the Volkswagen Golf R Mk6 and the Subaru Impreza Turbo. It marks some downpipes that include a catalyst as for off-road or track use only, so check a part's listing before it goes on a road car.
